Job Position: Supermarket Accountant

Job Location: Agbara, Magbon Okoafo - Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory financial regulations, managing day-to-day financial operations, preparing financial reports, and supporting the strategic financial planning of the supermarket.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software and manual records where required.
• Record all day-to-day financial transactions including sales, purchases, bank deposits, payroll, and petty cash disbursements.
• Reconcile daily cash takings, card payments, mobile money receipts, and POS terminal summaries with the sales reports.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between cashier summaries and actual remittances.
• Manage vendor accounts and ensure timely payments of all invoices.
• Ensure timely filing of VAT, WHT, PAYE, company income tax, and other regulatory obligations.

Skills / Requirements

• Minimum of B.Sc in Accounting or Finance from any recognised university.
• Not less than 2 years of experience in accounting.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks, Sage etc).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• High level of Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 / Month
