Job Position: Supply Chain Coordinator
Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time (Onsite)
Job Purpose
- The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that guide the department toward optimum performance.
- The role oversees and coordinates all procurement and supply chain activities, including market surveys, rate negotiations, claims management, order placement, delivery expediting, cost control in line with budget, and invoice verification for payment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Policy Implementation:
- Identify, implement, and ensure deployment of procurement, outsourcing, and logistics policies.
- Develop procurement policies and guidelines covering commercial, quality, and safety standards.
- Analyze market trends and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain.
- Identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Ensure enforcement of quality and compliance procedures.
Procurement & Contract Management:
- Coordinate all procurement activities including vendor prequalification, tendering, negotiation, and contract preparation.
- Manage and evaluate project procurement activities.
- Review and revalidate vendor contracts to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Negotiate rates, manage claims, and resolve subcontractor issues.
- Monitor order placement and expedite timely delivery.
- Take corrective actions to resolve delivery discrepancies.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct review meetings and provide supply chain reports to management.
- Monitor and track supplier performance to identify improvement areas.
- Communicate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and compliance with shipping and labeling requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers and freight forwarders on order delivery and documentation closure.
Operations & Compliance:
- Control cost allocation in line with approved budgets.
- Verify invoices for payment processing.
- Create and maintain an accurate database of all supply chain activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain inventory records and coordinate with project site material teams.
- Ensure adherence to safety and compliance regulations.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Interview, hire, and train procurement personnel.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members.
- Recommend training and drive continuous process improvements.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and responsiveness within the department.
QHSE & ISO Compliance:
- Manage the purchasing process under ISO 9001 certification requirements.
- Prepare for and support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE standards.
- Liaise with Quality and HSE departments to maintain and develop necessary certifications.
Qualifications
- Minimum of B.Sc. in Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
