Gender Parity Initiative
NGO / International Agencies
Gender Parity Initiative is birthed from the aspiration to challenge the global status quo of inequalities amongst the sexes, especially on the corporate boards. We are focused on accelerating a positive and unchallengeable change, in the legal, political, economic, and social framework that promotes equal participation in the formal sector. “GPI” seeks to alleviate gender inequalities in line with the international benchmark for sustainable business practices, aspiration 6 of the African Union (AU) Agenda 2063, Goals 5 &10 of the United Nations Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDG 2030), and the Nigerian Code of Corporate Governance 2018, inter alia. Beyond descriptive statistics, GPI advocates for policy changes in governance and gender diversity.
We are driven by passion and patriotism as we envision a gender diversified Nigeria. It is a well-known principle that you cannot build something on nothing and expect it to stand. (Ex nihilo nihil fit) Thus, we are bolstering gender parity in top executive positions, (that is, 50:50 stricto sensu gender balance) is not on a gender card game or charity basis rather it is by promoting highly qualified, skilled, diligent, capable and competent women who are truly deserving.
