Job Position: Account Officer / Inventory Officer

Position Summary

  • We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Account Officer / Inventory Officer to oversee both financial operations and inventory control.
  • This dual role requires someone who can manage accurate financial reporting, accounts receivable, and supplier payments, while also monitoring stock levels, quality, and replenishment across our supermarket branches.

Key Responsibilitie
Financial & Accounting:

  • Manage accounts receivable and branch imprest accounts.
  • Record daily transactions, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Process supplier invoices, monitor creditor balances, and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain petty cash and reconcile POS settlements.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Liaise with suppliers and external auditors

Inventory & Stock Management:

  • Perform daily stock checks and reconcile with system records.
  • Monitor expiry dates and shelf levels to ensure timely restocking.
  • Cross-check sales reports with physical stock counts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Conduct monthly price checks and update pricing records.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions and ensure timely procurement to avoid stock-outs.
  • Enter purchased items accurately into the system and guide staff on processes.
  • Maintain quality assurance through product evaluation and compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee inventory flow and safeguard stock.
  • Generate and share end-of-day inventory and sales reports.
  • Ensure staff compliance with company rules and discipline.
  • Maintain accurate charts of accounts and classification of financial entries.

Qualifications

  • HND/B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in accounting and inventory management, preferably in retail or supermarket settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and retail accounting/inventory software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Salary
N100,000 - N130,000 / Month.
