Job Summary


  • The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements, preparing financial statements, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and verify daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and implement necessary changes.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor actual versus budgeted expenses and revenues, providing variance analysis.
  • Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing and payment disbursement.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to management as required.
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.
  • Oversee the management of inventory, ensuring accurate reporting and valuation.
  • Utilize financial software for bookkeeping, financial reporting, and other accounting functions.
  • Ensure the financial software is up-to-date and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and submit regular financial reports to regulatory bodies as required.
  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support for decision-making.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax professionals, and other financial experts.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, tax regulations, and internal controls.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping and reporting.
  • Ethical Conduct: Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and integrity in financial management.
