We are recruiting to fill the following position:

Position: Accountant


Location: Lagos
Division/Department: Accounts
Reports To: Project Directors

Description

Responsible for overseeing and directing general accounting principles and operations. Prepares and reviews periodic accounting reports.

Basic Responibilities

  • Maintains all official accounting records in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Manages the proper collection, reconciliation and banking of monies
  • Compiles and remits VAT, WHT and other statutory deductions to government agencies
  • Liaising with auditors and providing relevant documents during audit periods
  • Manage and control various book keeping duties and functions.
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Analyze business operations, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  • Keep accurate records of monthly payroll calculations, payments and deductions.
  • Manages financial expenditure, including running costs, staff expenses, administrative costs.
  • Ensures that accounting functions and duties are accurately and promptly completed
  • Manage and track fixed assets
