BAKER

Meals & Dishes is a wholly owned Nigerian company, established with a view to rendering quality Food Processing, Eatery and General Contract Services in Nigeria. A subsidiary of Maverick Derons Limited, with head office located in Port Harcourt Rivers State Nigeria.

We require the services of a Baker to:

• Weigh and measure ingredients, using measuring cups and spoons.
• Check the quality of baking ingredients
• Prepare equipment for baking
• Combine measured ingredients in mixers or blenders
• Mix ingredients to form dough or batter by hand or using electric mixer.
• Knead, roll, cut, and shape dough, using rolling pin and cuts dough in uniform portions with knife, divider, cookie cutter.
• Mold dough in desired shapes, place dough in greased or floured pans, and trim overlapping edges with knife.
• Mix and cook pie fillings, and pour fillings into pie shells and tops filling with meringue or cream.
• Check production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake.
• Spread or sprinkle toppings on loaves or specialties and places dough in oven, using long-handled paddle (peel).
• Cover filling with top crust; place pies in oven; and adjust drafts or thermostatic controls to regulate oven temperatures.
• Mix ingredients to make icings, decorate cakes and pastries, and blend colors for icings, shaped ornaments, and statuaries.
• Remove baked goods from the oven and place on cooling racks

• Apply glazes, icings, or other toppings
• Supervise bakery personnel
• Estimate bakery needs, requisitions, adequate supplies, inventories supply and keep records of products
• Make sure that baking equipment is cleaned and maintained properly
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards
• Oversee cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment
• Teach and enforce safety regulations
•  Clean display cases and replace near expiry baked products with fresh baked goods
• Train new hires in baking techniques
• Package baked good appropriately and place pricing stickers
• Report all accidents, incidents and near misses in accordance with procedures
• Ensure compliance to HSE rules
