Position Overview


  • As a Business Development Officer, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth and expansion of the bank's portfolio. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and developing strategies to increase the bank’s market presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and business opportunities within the microfinance sector.
  • Client Acquisition: Develop and implement effective strategies to acquire new clients, including small businesses, entrepreneurs, and individual borrowers.
  • Business Strategy: Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute business development plans that align with the bank’s strategic goals.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze clients’ financial statements and creditworthiness to recommend suitable financial products and services.
  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Sales and Marketing: Promote the bank’s financial products and services, including loans, savings accounts, and other financial solutions, through various sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Community Engagement: Actively participate in community events and initiatives to raise awareness of the bank’s offerings and foster community ties.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, market trends, and client feedback to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, preferably in the financial services or microfinance sector.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
  • Customer Focus: Strong customer service skills, with a focus on understanding and meeting client needs.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market trends and data to identify sales opportunities.
