Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Description


  • The ideal candidates must possess in-depth knowledge, proficiency, and experience in cargo inspection, ship-to-ship (STS) transfers, cargo fiscalization, risk assessment, terminal safety, export operations, petroleum product quality and quantity determination, and bunker survey reporting.

Job Function

  • Manage and supervise ship-to-ship transfers and export operations, as well as adhere to API MPMS references and ensure proper documentation and compliance with industry practice
  • Monitor petroleum transfer operations for onshore and offshore loading vessels and utilize tank gauging and data interpolation techniques to achieve accuracy and accountability
  • Implement dynamic measurement while applying international standard procedures in calculating crude oil and petroleum products to reduce risk and uncertainties in measurement
  • Performed quantity inspection on crude oil, daily loading operations, discharge operations and operations reporting
  • Intermediates and ensures smooth operation between the crew, inspectors, boarding pilots, mooring masters, government authorities and chandlers.
  • Safeguarding organizational interests by participating in cargo operations for FPSO and FSO vessels, facilitating daily, weekly, mid-month, end-month, and end-year reconciliations with government agencies, and maintaining credibility and compliance with regulations.
  • Partake in the pre-shipment survey of bulk crude oil quantity
  • Ensure timely preparation of bunker survey reports for vessels and enhancing operational efficiency, leading toimprovement in resource optimization and loading operation safety
  • Conduct precise determinations of petroleum product quantities, supervise cargo operations, and implement cargo fiscalization during loading and offloading processes, ensuring accurate certifications processes, ensuring accurate certifications and preventing crude and financial losses as well as ensuring reduction indiscrepancies
  • Witness quality analysis test of crude oil samples before shipment
  • Participate in safety-critical meetings before loading and export operation of bulk crude oil
  • Supervise loading and discharging of petroleum products at offshore and onshore transshipments and tank farms.
  • Certify quantities transferred and perform complete reconciliation during transships at sea and berth
  • Drain tanks and prepare for oil pick-ups, ensure accuracy of gauges and check rates of pumps.
  • Accurately prepare, timely complete and submit all required reports, daily reports of the produced volume of oil, gas and water and other documentation as well as ullage of fact (SOF) for each voyage as statutorily required.

Minimum Education, Experience and Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Marine transportation or logistics
  • Ten years of necessary and relevant cumulative work experience in cargo handling, inspection and documentation
  • Basic Offshore Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) and Offshore Medical Certificate will be required
  • Must have marine surveying qualification
  • Must have relevant professional certificates
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years ofrelevant experience in the marine industry
  • Must be a member of the marine surveying society
  • Must have strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills
  • Must be result-oriented and committed to company goals
  • Must be proficient in the use of applicable software
  • Must be capable of representing the company with regulatory and government agencies.
  • Must be capable of utilizing advanced measurement techniques to enhance accuracy and accountability
  • Champion the enforcement of standards and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Proficiency in IT, at least essential office software, is compulsory for all positions.
