Job Position: Central Store Officer

Job Summary

  • The Pharmacy technician under the central store, assists the store keeper attached to pharmacy items in stocking and disbursement of health care products to pharmacy department.

Key Result Area
The key result areas of this role are:

  • Stocking, Disbursing and Requisition of Pharmacy Drugs

Under strict supervision of the Store Supervisor:

  • Receiving Pharmaceutical Items
  • Making Requisition of pharmaceutical items that has gotten to re-order levels to avoid stock outs.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all goods receipts and invoiced both on goods received note {GRN}, INSTA and PMS.
  • Accurate updates of Bin Cards.
  • Adherence to re-order levels and re-order quantities of pharmaceutical items.
  • Alert the store supervisor on increment of items supplied.
  • Good arrangement of items on the shelve based on their categories
  • Ensure proper storage and preservation of all pharmaceutical drugs both on shelf and refrigerator
  • Organize and Disburse pharmaceutical drugs for pharmacy store by going through the requisition orders.
  • Deliver appropriate medications and pharmaceutical supplies in the right quantity to Pharmacy Store.
  • Ensure prompt update of bin cards during supplies and disbursement of pharmaceutical items.
  • Tracking of pharmaceutical items that are not fully supplied.
  • Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and inform pharmacist for stock and policy conformity .
  • Monitor expiry date of pharmaceutical items.
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for all pharmaceutical items.
  • Maintain records by documenting and filing invoices on GRN for audit and user departmental checks.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, ensuring First-in-First-Out (FIFO) system is strictly adhered to, anticipating needed requisitions and supplies, and removing outdated drugs.
  • Daily spot-checking of pharmaceutical items to monitor re-order levels and avoid stock out.
  • Regularly clean the refrigerator and monitor the temperature of the refrigerator where drugs are kept.

The Person

  • Minimum academic qualification of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or any related science Degree.
  • 2 to 5 years relevant work experience preferably in the Health or Service sector.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft office package.
  • Student Membership of relevant professional bodies such as the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN).
  • Outstanding communication (oral and written), interpersonal and people management skills.
