Job Overview

• We’re seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure CloudOps Storage and Backup Engineer to design, implement, and manage cloud-based storage and backup solutions on Microsoft Azure. 
• The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure storage services, backup and disaster recovery strategies, automation, and security best practices. This role will focus on ensuring data availability, integrity, and scalability while optimizing performance and supporting cloud operations.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain Azure storage solutions, including Azure Blob Storage, Azure Files, Azure Disks, and Azure NetApp Files.
• Develop and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies using Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and snapshot replication.
• Optimize storage performance, capacity planning, and cost efficiency while ensuring high availability.
• Automate storage and backup administration tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or similar.
• Troubleshoot and resolve storage and backup-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and failures.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate storage solutions with business applications and workloads.
• Implement and maintain storage security best practices, including encryption, access control, and compliance with data protection policies.
• Monitor storage health, backup status, and performance using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2 for data protection and security.
• Maintain comprehensive storage and backup documentation, policies, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cloud storage and backup engineering with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong expertise in Azure storage solutions, including Blob Storage, Azure Files, and Managed Disks.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions, including Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or similar.
• Proficiency in automation and scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
• Strong understanding of storage security principles, identity management, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with hybrid cloud storage and data migration strategies.
• Strong written and verbal English skills are required for effective communication and collaboration.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially for storage and backup performance and security issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments.
• Ability to document procedures, policies, and technical solutions effectively.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Storage Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.
• Experience with multi-cloud storage strategies, including Azure and OCI.
• Familiarity with containerized storage solutions and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and storage service management best practices.
• Experience with large-scale data archiving, tiering, and lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of SAN/NAS solutions and enterprise storage architectures.
