The University of Delta Agbor was established by virtue of the University of Delta (Establishment) Law 2021 with a Vision to be an institution of excellence geared towards producing competent graduates capable of meeting the challenges of National development. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions below:
1.) Registrar
Job Location: Agbor, Delta
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 5 Years
The Job
- The Registrar, who is the Chief Administrative Officer and one of the Principal Officers of the University, shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day- to-day administration of the University. By virtue of his / her office, he/she shall be the Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a good honours First Degree in Humanities, Arts or Social Sciences. Possession of a relevant postgraduate Degree would be an added advantage.
- Registration with professional bodies is required (such as ANUPA, NIM, CIPM, etc.) and must be current.
- By appointment / interview of a Senior Deputy Registrar with a good honours Degree of a recognized University or its equivalent, and at least 20 years post-qualification experience, a substantial part of which must have been in a University or other Institution(s) of higher learning.
- Candidates are expected to be knowledgeable about the operations of the University system and competent to advise and take executive actions on matters of planning, design and management in realization of the objectives of teaching, research and community service.
- Sufficient knowledge of ICT is required.
Conditions Of Service
- The appointment for the post of Registrar will be for a single term of five years only. The condition of service shall be as applicable in the Nigerian University system and as determined by Council from time to time.
- Candidates who would be above 60 years by 2nd of May, 2026 need not apply.

2.) Vice-Chancellor
Job Location: Agbor, Delta
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 5 Years
The Job
- The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the University, ex-officio Chairman of the Senate and member of the Governing Council of the University.
- Among other functions, the Vice Chancellor shall:
- Be competent at all times to advise the Council on any matter affecting the policy, finance and administration of the University.
- Be generally responsible to the Council for maintaining the efficiency and good order of the University and for ensuring the proper enforcement of Laws and Regulations.
- Ensure sound academic policies of the University.
- Be responsible for general discipline in the University.
- Regulate the admission of the students in accordance with the approved guidelines and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- The candidate to be appointed as Vice-Chancellor of University of Delta, Agbor:
- Must possess a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree in a discipline relevant to the courses and programmes of the University.
- Shall be a person not below the rank of Professor of not less than five (5) years standing, and with cognate experience in University Administration and Management.
- Experience in university teaching and administration of not less than fifteen (15) years
- Must show evidence of academic leadership and sound scholarship by way of research, publications and mentoring of students and fellow staff.
- Should be one with unblemished character and personality; morally sound and free from disciplinary and financial embarrassment.
- Should be well exposed and versatile in international relations, and with a profile to command national and international respect.
- Should be conversant with University business, particularly with records that could guarantee academic standards and discipline.
- Must show evidence of understanding of the academic, national and international objectives of universities.
- Must be of good health and shall show evidence of it at interview, if shortlisted.
- Should be well versed in ICT, with digital skills.
- Should be able to inspire and sustain harmonious working relationships among the administration, staff and students.
- Should not be above sixty-five (65) years at the time of assumption of office as Vice-Chancellor.
Tenure
- The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for one non-renewable term of five (5) years only.
Conditions Of Service
- The successful candidate shall hold office on such terms and conditions as are applicable to the post of a Vice-Chancellor in the Nigerian Universities.

Such referees should be in a position to attest to the candidate's claim to high academic standard, managerial capability and moral uprightness.
