ELEMENTARY TEACHER

Job Summary

A reputable school in Surulere, Lagos is seeking a qualified and experienced Elementary Teacher to lead an elementary classroom. The ideal candidate must be passionate about child-centered education, skilled in guiding independent learning, and committed to fostering academic excellence and character development.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a structured learning elementary environment.
• Present lessons across core subject areas (English, Mathematics, Cultural Studies, Science, etc.).
• Develop individualized learning plans based on observation and assessment.
• Guide pupils toward independence, critical thinking, and responsibility.
• Maintain accurate academic records and progress reports.
• Manage classroom behaviour using positive discipline strategies.
• Prepare pupils for internal and external assessments where required.
• Communicate effectively with parents through meetings and written reports.
• Collaborate with fellow educators.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree (B.Ed./B.Sc. Mathematics/Education Mathematics, or B.A/B.Ed English or related field)
• Minimum of 3 years experience in an elementary classroom
• Strong classroom leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Broad subject knowledge
• Adaptability to mixed-ability learners
