The Sickbay Clinic is a state-of-the-art healthcare centre focused on providing both real-time and virtual clinical services with a system that helps in ensuring easy to access healthcare facilities and on-site healthcare professionals. The facility provides its services to patients during weekdays and weekends. The Centre is also open to patients for a 24-hour period for emergencies. The Sickbay Clinic is located in Abuja. Our services and facilities span several specialities and include emergency/trauma centre, diagnostic centre, paediatric primary care and several other facilities that make for a modern multi-speciality hospital.

Job Summary

  • The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for handling customers’ prescription data, filling and labelling prescriptions, managing inventory and distributing medications to customers.

Job Description

  • The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for handling customer transactions and inventory at The Sickbay Clinics.
  • He/She will be dispensing both prescription and over the counter medicine to customers.
  • He/She will also be responsible for checking and evaluating written prescriptions, as well as recording and verifying patient information while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
  • In order to be a successful candidate, you must display excellent communication skills and an affinity for great customer service.
  • You must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Accepting written prescriptions or refill requests from patients and evaluating information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Recording medical histories while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with The Sickbay Clinics regulations.
  • Delivering quality customer service to patients, responding to inquiries, questions, or requests.
  • Verifying the accuracy of patient information.
  • Counting prescription medication, filling prescriptions, and typing and attaching medication labels.
  • Performing inventory audits and purchasing supplies and medication.
  • Process patient insurance.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Applicants should have at least 2 years of proven experience post-NYSC
  • Candidates must possess NYSC discharge Certificate or Exemption letter
  • Current pharmacy technician registration/certification
  • Pharmacy technician licensure in the state you are working in
  • Basic mathematics skills include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing into all units of measure
  • Effective computer and keyboarding skills
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy information systems
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong prioritization skills and an ability to make decisions independently and effectively
  • Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labelling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices

Special Conditions

  • Employment is contingent on passing a medical screening conducted by the Clinic
  • Employee will be subject to various testing including but not limited to drug and medical testing throughout the tenure of their employment
