Osten Laboratory is an Environmental and Petroleum testing laboratory. Our activities include use of instrumental methods to detect trace analysis that provides needed information for geological exploration, Environmental remediation and production activities.

Job Location: Port Harcourt, RIvers

Job Summary


  • We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Environmental Manager to join our team in Port Harcourt.
  • In this role, you will manage the Environmental Studies team, ensuring the highest quality of project deliverables and compliance monitoring for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance: Liaise with the Environmental Lab team to ensure all analytical results adhere to QA/QC protocols.
  • Environmental Data Gathering: Coordinate data gathering, and sample collections, and ensure a smooth workflow between the laboratory and field team.
  • Client Relations: Foster strong relationships with clients by providing expert advisory and assessment services aimed at minimizing environmental impacts.
  • Project Coordination: Manage client projects, coordinate external consultants, and liaise with regulatory agencies to facilitate client approvals.
  • Technical Reporting: Collaborate with the team to carry out detailed technical reporting for client projects, including compliance reports, sustainability reports, and environmental studies.

Education & Work Experience

  • Minimum Qualifications: BSc / HND in Environmental Sciences or a related science discipline field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in managing environmental studies and environmental laboratories, particularly within the oil and gas sector.
  • Corporate Sustainability: Mid-level experience in corporate sustainability consultancy and reporting is required.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulatory guidelines.
  • Extensive experience in writing environmental technical reports and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong time management abilities, capable of delivering within tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in GC and GCMC applications is a plus.
  • Experience working within QA and to GLP standards.
  • Knowledge of air dispersion modeling tools is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong leadership abilities.
