Job Summary


  • We are seeking an experienced and skilled Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our farm.
  • We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Farm Manager to live and work full time on our farm.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of farm operations, including crop production, livestock management and maintenance of farm infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the planting, nurturing, and harvesting of different varieties of crops, including:
    • Tomatoes
    • Peppers
    • Okro
    • All types of vegetables
    • Yam
    • Cassava etc
  •  Develop and implement effective crop rotation and soil management strategies to optimize crop yields and soil health.
  • Manage and maintain farm infrastructure, including irrigation systems, fencing, and buildings.
  • Supervise and train farm staff to ensure efficient and effective farm operations.
  • Monitor and control pests, diseases, and weeds to minimize crop damage and losses.
  • Maintain accurate records of farm operations, including crop yields.
  • Collaborate with the farm owner/operations manager to develop and implement long-term farm plans and strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in farm management, with a focus on crop production.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in planting, nurturing, and harvesting a variety of crops, including those listed above.
  • Strong understanding of soil science, crop rotation, and integrated pest management.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and train farm staff.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced farm environment.
  • Willingness to live on-site and be available to respond to farm emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in farm management or a related field.
  • Experience with organic or regenerative farming practices.
  • Knowledge of farm machinery and equipment maintenance.
