Job Position: General Ledger Accountant
Job Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced General Ledger Accountant to support accurate financial reporting across our retail operations.
• The ideal candidate will manage general ledger activities, perform key reconciliations, and provide financial insights that strengthen decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations; resolve reconciling items.
• Maintain cashbook records and liaise with banks on settlement or processing issues.
• Reconcile revenue from retail stores and e-commerce channels; ensure accurate revenue recognition.
• Post and validate journal entries, complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations across AP, AR, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets.
• Support month-end and year-end close; ensure an audit-ready GL.
• Conduct variance analysis and support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Prepare audit schedules and recommend process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in GL or financial reporting.
• ICAN or ACCA (completed or in final stage).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial controls.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (Sage, SAP, ZohoBooks, etc.).
