Description

  • We are seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Manager to oversee the implementation and management of our Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and practices within our terminal operations.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
  • Investigating Workplace Incidents, establishes the causes and recommends preventive action against a recurrence
  • Identify, implement, and audit all relevant HSSE legislation and standards to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Lead incident investigations, ensuring thorough analysis and reporting to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure HSE training and awareness programs are effectively delivered.
  • Develop and audit the HSE Management Plan in alignment with regional operational strategies to create a safe working environment.
  • Ensure the maintenance and availability of critical safety equipment in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate controls.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
  • Facilitate safety meetings and workshops to promote a proactive safety culture

Requirements
Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in HSE management, preferably within the logistics or terminal industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • NEBOSH IGC or ISPON certification.
  • Extensive knowledge of container terminal operational activities.
  • Effective negotiation, conflict resolution and strong influencing abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and foster cooperation to achieve safety objectives.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
