Job Summary

  • The HR Officer will support the day-to-day operations of the HR department, providing expertise in recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration.
  • The role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills to ensure the smooth delivery of HR services in a dynamic oil and gas environment.

Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding:


  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including drafting job descriptions, posting vacancies, screening candidates, and organizing interviews.
  • Support onboarding processes by preparing orientation schedules, introducing new hires to the organization, and ensuring proper documentation.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries and concerns.
  • Assist in resolving employee grievances in a timely and professional manner.
  • Organize and support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including contracts, personal details, and performance documentation.
  • Prepare HR-related reports, letters, and other documentation as needed.
  • Manage leave and attendance records and ensure timely updates in the HR system.

Compliance and Policy Implementation:

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Assist in implementing and reviewing HR policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and advise the HR Manager accordingly.

Performance Management:

  • Assist in coordinating the performance appraisal process, including tracking deadlines and compiling evaluation data.
  • Support managers in addressing performance issues and creating development plans for employees.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs in collaboration with department heads.
  • Support the delivery of training programs and maintain training records.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

  • Work with the HSE team to ensure adherence to workplace safety and health standards.
  • Promote safety awareness among employees and participate in safety-related initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and employment regulations.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Familiarity with HR practices in the oil and gas sector is an added advantage.
  • Professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or HRCI is desirable but not mandatory.
