Job Position: HR Officer
Job Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary
- The HR Officer will support the day-to-day operations of the HR department, providing expertise in recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration.
- The role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills to ensure the smooth delivery of HR services in a dynamic oil and gas environment.
Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Coordinate recruitment activities, including drafting job descriptions, posting vacancies, screening candidates, and organizing interviews.
- Support onboarding processes by preparing orientation schedules, introducing new hires to the organization, and ensuring proper documentation.
Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries and concerns.
- Assist in resolving employee grievances in a timely and professional manner.
- Organize and support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment.
HR Administration:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including contracts, personal details, and performance documentation.
- Prepare HR-related reports, letters, and other documentation as needed.
- Manage leave and attendance records and ensure timely updates in the HR system.
Compliance and Policy Implementation:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, industry standards, and company policies.
- Assist in implementing and reviewing HR policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and advise the HR Manager accordingly.
Performance Management:
- Assist in coordinating the performance appraisal process, including tracking deadlines and compiling evaluation data.
- Support managers in addressing performance issues and creating development plans for employees.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs in collaboration with department heads.
- Support the delivery of training programs and maintain training records.
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
- Work with the HSE team to ensure adherence to workplace safety and health standards.
- Promote safety awareness among employees and participate in safety-related initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and employment regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Familiarity with HR practices in the oil and gas sector is an added advantage.
- Professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or HRCI is desirable but not mandatory.
