Job Position: Human Resources Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description


  • The successful candidate will provide HR services and spearhead best practices in line with our Company strategies.
  • Will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and supporting employees to identify their individual strengths and development needs, while championing an open, embracing culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the HR Strategy and core areas of the HR department including Recruitment & Selection, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Reward and Recognition, as well as maintaining and improving HR systems
  • Drive the continuous improvement agenda with focus on engagement and welfare activities, maximizing productivity, devolving HR responsibilities to line managers, and building leadership capability
  • Support in strengthening the organisational culture, ensuring that employees live up to and uphold company values.
  • Execute a plan for diversity, equity and inclusion that aligns with company values, business strategy and commitments
  • Regularly coach, mentor and support managers and high potential employees to identify individual strengths and development needs, develop and maintain effective relationships and encourage retention
  • Ensure managers are sufficiently skilled and enabled to access appropriate guidance and information to manage workforce issues
  • Ensure compliance with all employment and labour laws in all the countries we operate
  • Advice on a wide range of core human resource functions including organisational design, HR policies, and any emerging trends and best practices
  • Provide desired metrics to guide talent related decisions
  • In charge of managing and coordinating the general office administration functions to ensure efficient and effective operations across the business. This includes ensuring periodic repair and maintenance of buildings, fittings, and fixtures
  • Oversee the service delivery of outsourced services to guarantee protection of employees, company assets, business operations/activities to ensure value for money
  • Preparation and submission of HR and administration reports as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or its equivalent
  • Professional qualification in Human Resource Management and a member of a recognised HR body
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in general HR management in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the telecom industry would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to use the internet to obtain data and reference materials

Skills:

  • Proven ability to plan, organise and prioritise work; ability to remain calm under pressure in difficult circumstances and not lose sight of operational priorities
  • In-depth knowledge of labour laws, human resources practices and policies
  • High level of knowledge of using HRIS system
  • High level of human resources business acumen with the ability to understand the implications of each transaction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong written and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with professional credibility in order to influence and motivate others to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrate high integrity, strong work ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent time management and negotiation skills
  • Strong at attention to details.
