Job Purpose

  • The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and testing the private cloud infrastructure components comprising compute, storage, etc., and ensuring the underlying architecture supports business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and architect end-to-end validated solutions representing real-world cloud provider implementations.
  • Function as the technical product expert for specific cloud provider solution areas.
  • Collaborate with the cloud business unit to review functional specifications and provide feedback on releases and features.
  • Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid environments.
  • Administer and support Linux-based systems ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage OpenStack deployments such as Virtuozzo-based virtualization and container environments.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployment pipelines, CI/CD processes, and monitoring.
  • Create and maintain custom cloud product offerings tailored to business needs.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices across cloud and virtualized environments.
  • Provide expertise in containerization technologies including Virtuozzo, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Integrate third-party services and APIs to enhance cloud platform capabilities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define cloud strategies and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements (ISO, GDPR).
  • Document system configurations, processes, and architectural decisions.

Qualification and Experience

  • First Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 3–5 years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer.
  • Strong expertise with OpenStack and virtualization solutions (VMware, Proxmox).
  • Knowledge of storage solutions (iSCSI, NAS, SAN), hyper-converged solutions, and backup/disaster recovery tools (Commvault, Veeam, Netbackup, Acronis).
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Digital Ocean).
  • Experience with DevOps practices, Bash scripting, and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix).
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
