Job Position: Internal Auditor

Overview
- We seek a highly skilled and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to join our team. The Internal Auditor will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the organisation's risk management, control, and governance processes.
- The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and internal auditing standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform internal audits by established auditing standards and procedures.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance practices.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on corrective actions.
- Provide support and guidance to management on internal control issues and best practices.
- Stay informed about changes in auditing standards, regulations, and industry trends.
- Identify areas of potential risk or inefficiency and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct audits of financial transactions, operational processes, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and action plans for management.
- Collaborate with external auditors as needed during the audit process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- Professional certifications include ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) or ANAN (Association of National Accountants of Nigeria).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal control concepts, and auditing standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with audit software and data analysis tools is a plus.
