Job Summary
- Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Inventory Manager to oversee the company's inventory operations in Lagos, Nigeria.
- The Inventory Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing the entire inventory process, ensuring accurate stock levels, efficient stock movement, and effective inventory control.
- The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining seamless operations within our stores, as well as managing inventory across our warehouses.
Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Monitor, track, and control inventory levels across all stores and warehouses. Implement efficient inventory management systems and processes to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained to meet customer demands.
- Stock Replenishment: Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely and accurate replenishment of stock based on sales data and demand forecasts.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient movement of inventory from suppliers to stores and warehouses.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the lifecycle of products, including new product introductions, slow-moving stock, and clearance of discontinued items.
- Inventory Reporting: Generate regular inventory reports, analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), and present findings to management for informed decision-making.
- Inventory Accuracy: Conduct regular stock audits, cycle counts, and physical stock checks to maintain inventory accuracy. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found during audits.
- Demand Forecasting: Analyze sales trends and customer demands to accurately forecast stock requirements and avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
- Team Management: Lead and develop a team of inventory coordinators and storekeepers to ensure smooth operations and optimal productivity.
- Loss Prevention: Implement and maintain measures to prevent inventory shrinkage, theft, or damage. Identify and address security vulnerabilities in inventory handling.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and efficiency enhancements within the inventory management function.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3 - 5 years) as an Inventory Manager or similar role, preferably within the retail or sports industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of sports products, brands, and market trends is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Solid understanding of supply chain principles and inventory control best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
