Job Description

  • Responsible for measuring, monitoring and analyzing the organization’s market risk exposure on a day-to-day and long-term basis for various financial products.
  • Market risk pertains to potential loss due to market movements such as changes in interest rates, equity prices, credit spreads and foreign exchange rates.
  • Individuals monitor trading limits and are responsible for approving transactions over certain established limits.
  • Work with traders or trading management and recommend actions to mitigate risk.
  • Responsible for monitoring and analyzing the organization’s risk exposure by understanding the risks and rewards of the Citi products.
  • Structures solutions to mitigate risks of those products. Role includes treasury risk management and non-traded market risk in the banking book

Responsibilities

  • Working with each trading desk to ensure that all relevant market risk factors are properly identified and formally captured in official risk systems
  • Working with senior risk managers in Volcker compliance program
  • Developing and maintaining an appropriate autonomous market risk limits framework with applicable limits and triggers
  • Autonomously monitor business compliance with the firm’s market risk-related policies
  • Assist in credit product and muni product risk reporting and limit monitoring
  • Oversee risk exposure measurement and limit monitoring processes to ensure integrity and appropriate independence of reporting
  • Participate in the development of business-level stress testing that properly considers risk concentrations by single issuer, risk rating, sector/industry and geography; review results and assess appropriate follow-up actions
  • Participate in the ongoing development, implementation and upgrade of risk systems including CRMR/VaR, CRMR/Issuer risk, LimitCentral/Volcker, LimitCentral/issuer risk

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's / University degree, Master's Degree preferred
  • 15 years of minimum post graduation work experience, 10 years being in banking and...
  • 2 years of AGM/AVP in at least 3 major areas of banking operations
  • Must possess knowledge of system workflows, front-end and management reporting application systems, and knowledge in the utilization of database technology.
  • Treasury experience including asset and liability management is a plus. Project management experience is a plus
  • Ability to lead a team. Guide the team members in their daily work and career development.

2.) Labor Relations Senior Manager - Nigeria & Ghana

  • This role is a member of the newly-formed MEA Labor Relations team which reports to a MEA team lead based in the UAE. This role in turn reports to the MEA Head of HR.
  • Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services.
  • May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise.
  • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required, as well as an understanding of local labor laws and the applicable regulatory environment.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work independently, be able to prioritize workloads and manage stakeholders to the highest level.
  • Generally, has responsibility for volume, quality and timeliness of end results.

Responsibilities
Labor/ Union & Collective Negotiations:

  • Implements the organization's employee relations strategy to minimize the negative impact of individual employee grievances or collective labor disputes.
  • Coordinates employee and labor relations programs to ensure compliance with policies and practices.
  • Represents the organization in contract negotiations with labor unions. Ensures that there is effective cost budgeting for any incremental asks/incentives to support contract negotiations.
  • Liaises with managers, employees, and their representatives to investigate and resolve grievances and develop strategies to prevent their recurrence to maintain a productive and harmonious workplace.
  • Ensures all employer-employee relationships in the organization comply with collective agreements, individual employment contracts, regulations, laws, and the organization's employment policies and standards.
  • Analyzes and interpret bargaining trends and issues, as well as standards, regulations, and laws to understand their impact on the organization. This includes market benchmarking on similar organizations and the incentives provided under the relevant bargaining agreements.
  • Represents management in negotiations and dispute resolution with employees, unions, employer bodies, government agencies, labor relations authorities, and other agencies to protect the organization's interests.

Employment Litigation:

  • Provide support to Employment Legal and CHROs on employment litigation processes

Regulatory Advisory (HR and Local Labor Law):

  • Partners with the CHROs, Employment Legal, ICRM and Country Legal teams to respond to Labor authorities or regulators on employment matters
  • Translate external/internal labor counsel labor law / regulations and into changes impacting the workplace; monitor changes in labor law to advise management
  • Support CHROs with Labor Department audits and/or inquiries

Policy & Regulation:

  • Confirm policy and Regulation applicability under labor law. Implementation is coordinated by Labor Relations in each country with Employment Law, ER, other COEs or HR Delivery accordingly.
  • Provide advice to Policy Lead on changes to Employees Handbook: Update according to Labor Law amendments and jointly with the Union, file before Labor Board.

Occupational Health:

  • Oversight on Occupational Health issues: committees participation, representation with regulators, as applicable

Third Parties contractors, NEMS:

  • Third parties contractors, NEMS (Non Employees) Bankruptcy and Litigation Monitoring
  • Advise on NEMS management and conversions

Risk & Controls:

  • Identify controls to manage risks, conduct root cause analysis and look-across to prevent risks from being repeated
  • Partner with HR Controls, ICRM, and Risk teams to provide support to the CHROs on issue management, tracking progress, escalating concerns

Job Purpose

  • Leads the Nigeria corporate sales and solutions business
  • Ensuring that coverage benchmarks are met for assigned customer names
  • Nurture client relationships. Support RMs to devise and develop treasury based solutions to meet corporate clients’ needs
  • Ensure Citi remains in the dominant position in the market by leveraging on the Citi brand, product depth and professionalism
  • Focus on the ecommerce business with a view to embedding the CitiFX Pulse product with corporate clients, and increasing revenue and volumes across online modules.
  • Ensuring that all internal process and requirements that relate to customer acquisition and transaction processing are efficiently managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating and executing the corporate sales strategy in the country
  • Responsible for originating ideas, working closely with the relationship managers and regional product specialists to deliver value added products and services to key priority customers of the bank
  • Ensure that Citi remains in the dominant position in the Rates and Currencies business in this market by leveraging on the Citi brand, product depth and professionalism, while guiding the introduction of new products to the market to add depth, breadth and future revenue streams for the business
  • Focus on the ecommerce business with a view to embedding the Citi treasury product with corporate clients, and increasing revenue and volumes across the foreign exchange and money market modules.
  • Support RMs to devise and develop treasury based solutions to meet corporate clients’ needs.
  • Formulate and implement all short and medium term strategies for the sales of structured solutions to key priority bank customers. Generate fresh trade ideas, arising out of an understanding of bank customer exposures and implement and sell products to mitigate these.
  • Ensure that all derivative sales practices meet all Citi standards and comply with local regulations and guidelines, this includes suitability and appropriateness testing of derivatives customers
  • Risk and Controls (protect the franchise), and operate at the highest ethical standards, understand and adhere to internal policies
  • Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.             

Business Relationships:
Internal:

  • RMs/Corporate Finance for marketing structured product ideas to key customers.
  • Trading Teams to place customer orders in the market
  • Regional hubs for structured sales support and introduction of trade ideas in this market
  • Back and middle office to ensure appropriate booking, measurement and compliance with regulations as they relate to derivatives sales

External:

  • Direct marketing of large priority  customers to identify exposure and sell derivative ideas
  • Liaising with customers and Corporate finance teams to embed hedge solutions in Corporate Finance Pitches
  • Customers both on and offshore will rely on the sales team for market analysis, forecasts and trends

Knowledge/Qualifications/Skills

  • University Undergraduate Degree
  • Minimum of 15 years of post-graduation experience out of which 10 years must have been in the banking industry
  • Minimum of two years as Deputy General Manager or equivalent
  • Evidence of experience in at least three (3) major areas of banking operations.
  • Relevant Professional Qualification e.g. CFA, ACA, MBA etc.
  • Candidate must be numeric with proven analytic skills, decisive, quick thinking and have high energy level and drive
  • Strong organizational skills and must be able to multi-task
  • Must be highly motivated and have a very competitive nature.
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
