Job Position: Project Engineer
Job Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Adhering to mission statement, to code of conduct, to IMS system and further company specific documents

- Required to fulfil the responsibilities of an employee as specified in ILF-NGR Health and Safety Management System Plan
- Manage and coordinate the activities with regard to Budget and Cost Control and Change Order Administration and Review.
- Technical control and coordination of all project works.
- Provide the necessary input data for progress reports.
- Establish system for project monitoring and ensure that system is working correctly and continuously compare and monitor the anticipated progress.
- Prepare a Budget and Cost Control Procedure that meets the Cost Control input requirements of the contract.
- Prepare a valid overall project budget.
- Prepare an administration procedure.
- Establish a cost reporting system according to the Specifications of the project.
- Record the source of basic estimating data with regard to labour man-hours, cost, materials cost and escalation etc.
- Inform the Project Manager of any negative and positive trends.
- Develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) according to the contract requirements.
- Attend meetings on project budget, cost and scheduling activities.
- Coordinate all subsequent activities with regard to cost control and scheduling.
- Review all estimates with regard to level of detail and standard required for the effective control of the project.
- Prepare progress reports.
- Prepare a Schedule/ Planning Procedure that meets the Planning input requirements of the contract.
- Establish a Planning system according to the Specifications of the project.
- Prepare and maintain a valid overall project schedule.
- Identify current and anticipated critical target dates and to initiate corrective action.
- Plan, analyse and review all changes/ variations and their impact on milestones and the overall schedule, discuss results with the parties involved; implement changes into the schedule when approved by the Project Manager.
- Attend meetings on project planning and scheduling progress.
- Prepare and maintain documentation on planning and scheduling progress.
- Attend all the company-organized training courses when invited.
- To perform all tasks/ activities relevant to the company, assigned by the Management as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum Academic Education to B.Sc level in Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the relevant sector
- Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Excellent (very high level) proficiency in MS Word, Especially Excel and Power point.
- Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory.
- PMP Certification is an added advantage.

Job Position: Project Controls Lead
Job Location: Lagos
Job Description

- Awareness of the ILF Nigeria Health and Safety Management System Plan.
Functional Roles
Perform the following on a monthly basis for all projects of the assigned companies of the ILF Group by using the updated regional project information:
- Analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) and their trends, with a special focus on:
- Actual progress deviations (actual vs. planned) (on the basis of planned and reached milestones);
- Cost deviations (actual vs. planned);
- Man-hour deviations (actual vs. planned); and
- Risk exposure value.
- Analysis of monthly comments of a project manager (PM) (e.g. area of concerns);
- Check implementation of previously agreed project-specific measures to get back on track;
- Check the application of PM methodologies in projects (spot-check);
- Consult with the PM if deemed necessary;
- In case significant negative deviations are identified, the concerned managing director (for standard projects of the ILF Group or special projects also the BGD in charge) shall be informed that a project audit is required for this project.
Participate in special project audits (depending on regional requirements also in monthly project audits / standard quarterly audits) and consult with MD and PM on:
- Giving recommendations for improvements; and
- Making suggestions for a task force to identify and implement corrective actions.
If requested by the business development project manager, provide support as an advisor for project set-up during the business development phase.
Project Responsibilities
- Responsible for the preparation of all project reports and presentations not limited to Daily Reports, Weekly Reports, Monthly Reports, Steering Committee reports etc…
- Weekly collation and reporting of all project labour and non-labour costs.
- Supporting the preparation of in-house cost estimates for engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction work scopes.
- Developing periodic cash flow forecasts and budget utilization status reports.
- Reviewing and approval of requests for Milestone achievements based on defined criteria.
- Ensuring timely preparation and issuance of project invoices.
- Collating information updates from engineering, procurement and construction sources on a weekly basis; validate the information and prepare requisite presentations and reports

- Ensuring development of detailed resource loaded project baseline schedule using Primavera P6 software.
- Ensuring Schedule development in line with Project Control Plan.
- Preparing Progress Measurement System (PMS) for the project.
- Performing schedule analysis as required in each reporting cycle to identify slippages that could negatively impact on project completion milestones and communicated outcome to project team.
- Preparing project manpower histogram vis-à-vis schedule and provided updates in each reporting cycle.
- Preparing and issue project weekly and monthly schedule status reports with relevant narratives (Critical Path status, Float Status, Slippage Status, Recovery Status etc…)
- Preparing and Issuing 2 week schedule project look ahead plans.
- Attending progress review meetings.
- Ensuring 100% of the project scope is captured within schedule activities to fulfill project objectives.
- Evaluating actual progress against planned and provided regular progress updates during execution of projects.
- Reviewing and verifying project quantities reporting by checking, comparing & reporting actual quantities against planned quantities on a weekly basis.
- Verifying progress on activities using approved rules of credit.
- Supporting the Project Controls team on other project controls activities not listed.
- Supervising the development of Project Risk Management Plan and structuring of Project Risk Management System
- Ensuring the maintenance of the Project Risk Management System
- Supervising the Project Change Management system
Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
- Minimum qualification of a B.Sc in an Engineering Discipline.
- A Master’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline or an MBA would be a considerable advantage.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in relevant sector with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager or 10 years as a Senior Project Engineer on a similar large project.

Functional Role:

- Commercial project administrator assists project managers in commercial and administrative handling of the project.
- Managing the company’s ERP for Projects and ensuring accuracy of data within it.
- Responsible to transition a project code on ERP from Acquisition phase (Quote) to the execution phase (Order).
- Ensuring all necessary project-specific master data (Clients, contracts, currency, rates, personnel) have been accurately entered into the ERP.
- Updating all data in the ERP in coordination with the project manager
- Assisting the Project managers in the commercial administration of the project.
- Preparing monthly commercial reports for all projects
- Data collection for key figures requirements
- Preparation of budget reports and management reviews for project audits
- Execution of project audit
- Update of project audit agreements and follow through

- Supporting the preparation of the annual balance and profit & loss statements
- Actively preparing the work-in-progress list
- Preparing ad-hoc reports upon the request of management or the GMB
- In case there are significant deviations from the planning figures with regard to liquidity and the economic result, the controller informs the managing director and the commercial director of the company, so that the corresponding counter measures can be initiated in good time.

Qualifications
Educational Qualifications:
- Academic Education to BS level minimum in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Project controls or other related courses. Project management experience is an added advantage. Understanding of Engineering consulting is another advantage.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 12 years.
Competency Requirements:
- Knowledge of analytics and experience using analytical/statistical packages for analyzing datasets (mandatorily Excel, optional SPSS or SAS, etc)
- Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, Power Query or Power BI, etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML and/or VBA required, Javascript or ETL frameworks optional)
- Knowledge of accounting systems.
- Experience in financial administration.
- Ability to prioritize and attend to multiple assignments.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment; high energy and enthusiasm.
