Job Position: Solar Installations Technician

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct site/energy audits to gather data for analysis of customer energy requirements
  • Installation of roof-top and ground-mount Solar PV Systems up to 500KW
  • Perform system costing in coordination with the supply chain department and other internal key stakeholders
  • Provide Design Team with required information and support to enable them produce engineering drawings for upcoming projects
  • Developing materials lists for upcoming Solar PV installations
  • Assist in market research and propose products/technology/tools to help convert opportunities into revenue streams
  • Offer professional advice and educate clients on appliances applicable for solar power use
  • Co-ordinate with various teams within the company internally and externally for seamless project execution
  • Provide technical direction or support to installation teams during installation, start-up, testing, system commissioning, or performance monitoring
  • Troubleshooting issues relating to Solar PV installations

Educational Qualifications and other Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a minimum National Diploma (ND) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or graduate in a related engineering field
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the installation of Solar PV Systems of 10KW capacity and above
  • Awareness about safe work procedures during Solar PV installations is required
  • Must have electrical/electronic practical connections experience, able to do load terminations on Distribution Board
  • Language Proficiency: English (excellent oral & writing skills)
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Flexible to travel domestically.

Job Position: Project Engineer, Solar

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Project Execution:

  • Develop scope of works for solar projects and liaise with the Engineering Design team to come up with construction design packages and other supporting documentation.
  • We place a premium on Safety, hence you would be responsible for job site hazard identification and development of appropriate safety management plans for projects.
  • Resource planning for project implementation - identification and procurement of necessary project resources for project implementation.
  • Supervise installations in a timely and cost-effective manner maintaining high standards and compliance with best practices for solar installations.
  • Project document control - maintain up to date project/site documents.
  • Liaise with Management to improve company processes.
  • Participate, review and sign-off commissioning test reports.
  • Perform reporting functions to Management including weekly site reports.

Project Development:

  • Support our Business Development team with the required technical information for development of Solar PV solutions that align with the needs of our clients.
  • Technical project due diligence and project engineering design review.
  • Coordinate activities to retrieve energy consumption data and Energy production and performance modeling for PV and energy storage systems.
  • Manage communications with the Owners Engineers of our various clients.

Education

  • Minimum of B.Sc or HND in engineering (i.e. civil, structural, mechanical or electrical or similar technical degree).
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (Nigeria Society of Engineers, COREN)
  • Completed training/certifications in Solar PV project design and implementation.
  • PMP certification is a plus.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a project manager, field engineer or project engineer preferred in the Solar PV space.
  • Experience as a project manager with responsibility for management of project budget, schedule, engineering performance, construction performance, commissioning performance, quality performance and safety performance required.
  • At least 2 years of engineering management of project teams preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in safety focused work environment required.
