Legal Officer Job at a reputable Micro-finance Bank

A Microfinance Bank in Ikoyi, Lagos State, is currently recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Legal Officer
Job Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• You shall ensure the bank complies with all statutory and corporate governance practices and guidelines observed in the financial industry.
• Provide legal support and documentation in respect of external funds received; review legal agreements and ensure adequate documentation for all sanctioned funds received;
• Review ongoing suits/cases and provide legal opinion accordingly
• Review all third party agreements and provide legal opinion before execution
• Maintain a Register of all Agreements entered into by the microfinance bank outlining nature, parties, dates, duration etc
• You shall monitor and advise on all legal matters, commercial contracts, and agreements.
• Provide legal support and advisory services to the bank.

Requirements / Experience

• Have a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree from a recognized institution with a minimum of 3 years work experience
• Have a good knowledge/background in commercial law, arbitration, contract drafting, and sound in the litigation process.
• Sound knowledge of corporate law and regulations and statutes guiding financial institutions
• Sound judgment and discretion.

Remuneration
N1,800,000 - N2,065,000 (Gross) Annually.
