African Foundries Limited (AFL) was established to support the accelerating growth in Nigeria by making the country self-reliant for steel rebars and eliminating its dependence on imported rebars. AFL is set up to reach a 0.5 million-ton per year capacity for high strength rebars and allied products.

Job Descripion


  • Logistics Supervisor in the steel industry is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the movement, storage, and distribution of steel products within a facility
  • ensuring timely delivery to customers while maintaining operational efficiency, quality control, and compliance with safety regulations
  • Often coordinating with internal departments like production, sales, and shipping to optimize logistics processes within the steel manufacturing chain.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:

  • Monitoring steel product inventory levels to maintain adequate stock and prevent shortages.
  • Managing the receiving and inspection process for incoming steel deliveries, verifying quality and quantity against purchase orders.
  • Optimizing warehouse space utilization by organizing steel products based on size, type, and customer orders.

Order Fulfillment:

  • Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently, coordinating with the sales team to ensure timely delivery.
  • Scheduling and coordinating outbound shipments, including loading and securing steel products on trucks.
  • Managing delivery schedules to meet customer deadlines.

Logistics Operations:

  • Supervising a team of warehouse workers and forklift operators, assigning tasks and ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
  • Overseeing the loading and unloading process, ensuring proper handling of steel products to prevent damage.
  • Coordinating with transportation providers to arrange deliveries and negotiate freight costs..

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and quality standards related to steel handling and storage.
  • Conducting regular inspections of warehouse facilities and equipment to maintain safety compliance.
  • Implementing quality control measures to monitor the condition of steel products throughout the logistics process.

Qualifications

  • Interested candidates should possess an SSCE, OND, NCE, HND, or B.Sc Degree with 2-6 years of experiene.
