Job Overview

An opportunity has arisen within Pathology- at CAREFORTE DIAGNOSTICS for the post of Medical Laboratory Scientist.

The post holder is expected to be skilled in the use of the latest medical laboratory techniques and complex instrumentation alongside more traditional manual methods of investigation. Applicants are expected to have training and experience in Clinical Chemistry. The successful applicant will be expected to apply professional judgment and utilize necessary skills and knowledge to provide accurate and timely result service to requesting facilities. The individual will be committed to formally maintaining professional good standing, expert skills and knowledge by appropriate training and self-education.

About the Organisation

CAREFORTE Diagnostics is an indigenous health facility that specializes mainly in pathology services. The company is located in Meiran axis of Alimosho local government in Lagos State and is keen to continue to contribute to the advancement of diagnostic services in Nigeria.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• You will be required to have good communication and IT skills alongside the ability to work under pressure. You should also be capable of working independently.
• Participation in shift rota when and where necessary.
• Careforte Diagnostics is committed to personal and professional development. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is encouraged.
• You will be carrying out a range of laboratory and scientific tests to support the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• The successful applicant will be expected to work as part of the Careforte health team, complete appropriate in -house training and competencies. You will use either automated instrumentation or manual techniques to perform routine and complex investigations on samples in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• You will perform routine maintenance on complex, high-value laboratory equipment and troubleshoot problems that arise during the working day, rectifying them, or seeking assistance when necessary.

• The role is highly practical and analytical.

Persons Specification

Essential Criteria (Education, Qualifications and Experience)

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS)
• Current practicing license issued by MLSCN
• Experience in Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Automation
• Working Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
