Job Purpose / Objective


  • To support the Operations Expansion Supervisor in the assigned plant area in preparing permits to work, issuing permits, and providing permit oversight function for safe work execution. Perform any other function as assigned by the Operations Area Expansion Supervisor.

Main Accountabilities

  • Participate in Job Hazard Analysis and requisite permit attachment review as required in the Permit-to-work 8 step cycle, for safe work execution in line with Permit-to-work procedures and guidelines.
  • Carry out Gas tests at NLNG Authorized Gas Safety Tester Operator level as a prerequisite to permit issuance.
  • Responsible for daily last-minute risk assessment prior to Permit to Work (PTW) execution for control effectiveness and safe work execution.
  • Carry out permit oversight function on issued work permits to ensure compliance with permit conditions.
  • Conduct HSE walkabouts in assigned plant areas to identify any safety improvement action required and to identify any unsafe condition for necessary correction.
  • Participate in Flawless Project Delivery, Commissioning and Start-Up of Plant Expansion Projects/Turnaround/Tie-ins activities in the assigned
  • Ensure all relevant Project to Operations documentation are made available in the Operations Control centre upon project completion.
  • Act as Operations Plant Area Expansion Supervisor as required.

Job Requirements

  • OND / HND or University Degree in Chemical Engineering or another Engineering / Science discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in Oil and Gas industry.            LNG plant experience is an added advantage.
