We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Procurement and Cost Officer

Job Location: Ajah, Lagos

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Duties
Supplier Sourcing & Management:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers.
  • Ensure procurement aligns with project timelines and budgets.

Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts and agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contract terms.

Material & Resource Planning:

  • Forecast project material requirements and coordinate timely procurement.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure availability of resources for project execution.

Quantity Surveying Duties
Cost Estimation & Budgeting:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects.
  • Analyze and validate project costs to ensure financial feasibility.

Tender Preparation:

  • Prepare tender documentation, including bills of quantities (BoQs).
  • Evaluate tender submissions and recommend the best bids.

Project Monitoring:

  • Measure and value work done on-site to manage contractor payments.
  • Identify variations and handle claims or disputes efficiently.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Produce financial reports and advise stakeholders on project costs.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to improve cost-effectiveness.

Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Procurement, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., RICS, CIPS) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in procurement and/or quantity surveying roles.

Attributes:

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • The candidates must reside within Ajah and its environs.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • Expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and contract management.
  • Familiarity with construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficient in using cost management software and procurement tools.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
