Job Description


  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Procurement Officer to join our client team in Lagos, Nigeria.
  • The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing our organization's procurement processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and international trade laws
  • Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities and key performance indicators
  • Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, from requisition to payment
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfill their procurement needs
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor information
  • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes for increased efficiency
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 3- 5 years of proven experience in supply chain in a Marine and Logistics Environment.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and regulations
  • Understanding of supply chain management principles
  • Familiarity with local suppliers and market conditions in Lagos, Nigeria
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPM) preferred
  • Experience with international trade regulations a plus.
