Job Description
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Procurement Officer to join our client team in Lagos, Nigeria.
- The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing our organization's procurement processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and international trade laws
- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities and key performance indicators
- Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, from requisition to payment
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfill their procurement needs
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor information
- Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes for increased efficiency
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 3- 5 years of proven experience in supply chain in a Marine and Logistics Environment.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and regulations
- Understanding of supply chain management principles
- Familiarity with local suppliers and market conditions in Lagos, Nigeria
- Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPM) preferred
- Experience with international trade regulations a plus.
