Job Title: Purchaser

Duties

  • Ensure requests from Departments are properly labeled and referenced.
  • Manage Suppliers’ database and tender process
  • Background Check on quality of products/ services of Suppliers
  • Negotiate price and product specification
  • Follow up and close out international order placements
  • Monitoring orders and purchase orders up to delivery
  • Track and manage  order and reorder of P/S as requested
  • Ensure suppliers are checked regularly to maintain Company standard
  • Ensure effective up to date record keeping and system data
  • Line reporting and functional linkage
  • Reports to the Purchase Manager

Computer knowledge

  • Advanced computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Oracle

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing, Engineering Science or Social Sciences
  • Additional related qualifications will be a definite added advantage

Experience

  • Marine Engineering Company Working Background
  • Must have strong knowledge of procurement & costing principles related sourcing of components.
  • Must have technical ability to understand marine technical application of what is being procured
  • Experience in tracking and inventory management
  • Previous Experience in an international environment

Languages

  • Fluent in English
