Production Manager Recruitment at BOVAS

BOVAS - We are an indigenous independent petroleum marketing company. Presently, the Company operates One Hundred & Nineteen (119) service stations around the country and has several more under various stages of construction, which are to be delivered at intervals. A Liquefied Petroleum Gas Plant was added to the group in 1995, to cater for the domestic gas customers primarily in the southwestern part of the country with Twenty (20) operational gas skids.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Production Manager

Job Location: Sagamu, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary of Role


  • To coordinate and supervise blending and packaging of lube oils in the plant

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly production schedules
  • Provide input into Monthly Production Plans
  • Prepare production reports accurately and ensure timely submission
  • Furnish Stores Supervisor stock consumption records in approved format, daily, to facilitate update of stock ledgers.

Blending:

  • Prepare blend sheet for each batch of lubricants to be produced
  • Supervise the Operators and ensure that the approved batch blending process is adhered to always.
  • Provide operational support for the Stores Supervisor in respect of ullaging of incoming base oil supply trucks and dipping of base oil storage tanks.
  • Reconcile base oil withdrawals and other stocks with the Stores Supervisor daily.
  • Ensure that completed blends are sampled, tested and approved by the Laboratory before packaging commences.
  • Interface with the Laboratory to obtain necessary adjustment formula and direct activities for successful correction of failed blends.

Packaging:

  • Ensure that containers lined for packaging are clean
  • Ensure that containers are stencilled and labelled accurately and neatly
  • Ensure that containers are filled accurately
  • Ensure that filled containers are handled carefully and are promptly evacuated to the Storage Area.

Maintenance:

  • Implement an effective preventive maintenance program for plant equipment and machinery
  • Ensure that repairs are affected, and faults rectified promptly, in respect of malfunctioning plant equipment.
  • Ensure that all work areas are kept clean and tidy always.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Degree / HND in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other related Engineering / Technical Discipline
  • 5-8 years’ experience as a Production Manager.
  • Candidates with previous work experience in a lubricant industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment
  • Available to resume immediately
  • Applicant must be willing to relocate
