Hobark International Limited (HIL) is the parent company of the Hobark group operating in the oil and gas industry. The company was incorporated in 1998, starting as a staffing agency based in Port Harcourt. Currently we have offices in 4 countries with our head office in Lagos.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Project Manager

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Type: Contract

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage all phases of brownfield or greenfield development project—from FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) through to commissioning and handover.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate the activities of cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), HSE, subsurface, drilling, and external contractors.
  • Implement robust project governance and control frameworks, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards and regulations.
  • Oversee contract management activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and performance monitoring.

Requirements

  • Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical) or a related technical discipline. A Master’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, or Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive project management experience in upstream oil & gas, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity on major capital or greenfield development projects.
  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP®, PRINCE2®, APM, or equivalent).
  • Membership in professional bodies such as the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), COREN, or international equivalents is desirable.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of oilfield development lifecycle (Concepts, FEED, EPC, Commissioning and Sartup).
  • Strong understanding of project controls, cost engineering, scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Competency in reading and interpreting engineering and construction drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian oil & gas regulatory landscape (e.g., NUPRC/DPR standards and local content laws).
