Job Summary


  • The Quality Assurance Engineer will be developing and executing exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality.
  • QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions.
  • The candidate will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts).

Tasks

  • You will review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • You will analyze Quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff.
  • You will communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, outside vendors, or contractors.
  • You will work with marketing and sales departments to define requirements and expectations.
  • You will create and implement inspection and testing criteria for the procedure.
  • You will direct product testing activities throughout production cycles and oversee workers engaged in testing activities.
  • You will direct the tracking of procedures, methodologies, or criteria.
  • You will review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • You will create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • You will estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
  • You will design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
  • You will identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
  • You will perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • You will monitor debugging process results.
  • You will track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
  • You will ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test objects developed and test environments used.
  • You will monitor the performance of the quality control system to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • You will provide the Test Manager with accurate and precise estimates for test automation activities, along with confidence levels and foreseeable dependencies.
  • You will participate in Agile ceremonies, such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, and task estimation.
  • You will develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
  • You will liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
  • You will investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
  • You will stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
  • And other tasks/duties that may be assigned based on business exigencies.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a Computer field or equivalent.
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, and to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to monitor or assess the performance of yourself, other individuals, or the organization to make improvements or take corrective actions.
  • Expertise in automated and manual testing.
  • Very good understanding of documenting test cases and strategy.
  • Experience with Micros service API testing.
