Job Position: Quality Assurance Manager

Job Summary


  • The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the quality control processes in the production of ice cream, ice cream cones, bottled and sachet water, and ice cream mix.
  • The individual will ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • With a minimum of four years of experience in a food manufacturing company, the Quality Assurance Manager will lead quality initiatives and continuous improvement activities, working closely with production teams to ensure all processes adhere to strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Control Oversight:

  • Oversee the quality assurance processes for ice cream, ice cream cones, bottled water, sachet water, ice cream mix production and any products that we manufacture and sell within the company.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance policies, processes, and procedures in compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, NAFDAC, SON).
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

Product Testing & Compliance:

  • Perform regular product tests to ensure compliance with national and international food safety and quality standards.
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring all required certifications are up to date.
  • Ensure the company complies with government regulations regarding food production and packaging.

 Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of quality control technicians, providing guidance on best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Train employees on quality standards, food safety, and sanitation protocols.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve production efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to product quality.
  • Develop corrective and preventive action plans to address any identified issues.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of quality control tests, audit results, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting key quality trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the accuracy of product labeling and adherence to packaging regulations.

Qualifications

  • Education: HND / Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a quality assurance role in a food manufacturing company.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory requirements (HACCP, ISO, etc.).
  • Proficiency in quality control methodologies and auditing techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with automated quality control systems in food manufacturing.
  • Experience with ice cream, water bottling, or similar food processing environments.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety compliance in food production facilities.
