Job Summary


  • The Quality Control Engineer ensures excellent service delivery within the technical department.
  • The scope of quality control spans technician skills, spare parts & consumables, equipment, and maintenance services. Some of the key results areas include setting quality standards, material inspection, equipment inspection, process monitoring & evaluation, etc.

Role and Responsibilities
Quality Standards & Control Systems:

  • Studies and analyses all terminal equipment (cranes, rolling stock, and generators), spare parts, and consumables to determine minimum quality and control systems standards
  • Develops and implements the minimum quality and control systems standards • Researches and updates quality & and control systems standards periodically
  • Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, test results, and other relevant documentation
  • Prepares periodic quality standards & control systems reports and shares with key stakeholders

Process Monitoring & Evaluation:

  • Studies and analyses all existing maintenance workflows and processes to misalignment with OEM requirements and safety regulations
  • Recommends improvement/corrections to workflow and process misalignments for review and approval
  • Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards
  • Prepares periodic process/workflow reports and shares with key stakeholders Maintenance Material & Equipment Inspection
  • Carries out inspection of existing maintenance materials and equipment (including spare parts and consumables such as engine oil) to ensure alignment with established quality standards
  • Collaborates with Line managers to ensure compliance with approved workflows and processes
  • Carries out a periodic evaluation of set/established workflows and processes
  • Assess the skill and competency levels of technicians carrying out maintenance work
  • Inspects and advises on the quality standards of newly received maintenance materials & equipment (cranes, rolling stock, and generators)
  • Inspects all terminal equipment at the completion of maintenance operations and issues a quality pass
  • Provides advisory information on equipment spare parts to the supply chain team in the procurement process
  • Prepares periodic maintenance material & equipment reports and shares with key stakeholder

Stakeholder Management:

  • Works with the Technical Coordinator and Technical Planner for equipment breakdown and repair information
  • Provides information to key stakeholders on the status of terminal equipment (cranes, rolling stock, and generators)
  • Works with other team members to execute quality control activities
  • Work with external auditors for certifications and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 6-12 years of experience.
