About the Role

• Our client is seeking a highly experienced Core Network & signaling Engineer to design, operate, and evolve the end-to-end MVNO core network, ensuring seamless interworking with multiple Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and third-party service platforms.
• This role requires deep, hands-on expertise in telecom core networks, signaling (SS7 / Diameter / SIP), voice and data services, and proven experience working within the MNO environments.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for architecture, deployment, interconnectivity, troubleshooting, optimization, and regulatory compliance of the MVNO core infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
Core Network Operations & Management:

• Design, deploy, and maintain core network elements including HLR/HSS, MME, SGSN, GGSN, PGW, SGW, and IMS components
• Manage SIP-based voice services including VoLTE, VoWiFi, and traditional circuit-switched voice interconnections
• Configure and optimize signaling interfaces (Diameter, SS7/SIGTRAN, SIP/IMS) between MVNO core and host MNO networks
• Implement and maintain roaming agreements and interconnect configurations with partner networks

Network Interworking & Integration:

• Lead technical integration projects with host MNO networks, ensuring proper MAP, Diameter, and SIP protocol implementations
• Configure and troubleshoot IPX/GRX connections for international roaming and signaling
• Manage relationships with host MNOs on technical matters including interface specifications, capacity planning, and service enablement
• Coordinate with vendors and partners on core network equipment and service delivery

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

• Perform advanced troubleshooting of core network issues including call setup failures, registration problems, and data session issues
• Lead incident response for major network outages and service-affecting issues

Planning & Optimization:

• Monitor network performance and capacity, recommending upgrades and optimizations
• Develop and maintain network architecture documentation and operational procedures

Required Qualifications
Education:

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent practical experience
• Relevant certifications (general or vendor-specific certifications) are highly valued

Experience:

• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in mobile core networks with MNO or MVNO operators. Extensive experience with SS7, SIGTRAN, Diameter, and SIP protocols
• Proven track record of working with multiple core network vendors (e.g., Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, Mavenir)
• Direct experience with MVNO architecture and host MNO integration

Technical Skills

• Expert knowledge of 2G/3G/4G core network architecture (MSC, HLR, SGSN, GGSN, MME, HSS, PGW, SGW)
• Deep understanding of IMS architecture and VoLTE/VoWiFi implementations
• Proficiency in signaling protocols: MAP, CAP, INAP, Diameter, SIP, MGCP, SIGTRAN
• Strong knowledge of routing protocols and IP networking (MPLS, BGP, OSPF)
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, protocol analyzers, element management systems)

Salary
N800,000 - N1,200,000 / Month.
