We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Senior Procurement Specialist

Job Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

• Carry out Purchasing, Logistics and Material Handling activities, ensuring best value through exploring different purchasing options, whilst complying with the company’s procurement strategy.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine purchase needs, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Develop and present efficient transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
• Receive materials and equipment from suppliers as well as re-stocks and inspects items returned into inventory.
• Participate in analyzing inventory, market and delivery systems to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, and/or optimize client satisfaction.
• Design and propose warehousing strategies for production materials or finished products.
• Maintain accurate records of goods ordered and received.
• Drive cost-reduction efforts by utilizing negotiation techniques, managing transportation costs and minimize working capital while meeting company objectives.
• Participate in procurement cost analysis of materials and equipment based on location, time, consolidation points and developed procurement strategy to achieve desired results.
• Participate in the invitation, assessment, and award/recommendation of supplier tenders, bids, quotations and proposals
• Participate in the appraisal of vendor capability for materials, equipment or supplies through on-site visits and measurements to determine product availability and terms of sales.
• Inspect and ensure materials delivered to clients meet agreed specification and resolve value discrepancies where required.
• Participate in developing policies or procedures for procurement and logistics activities.
• Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues relating to items purchased.
• Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation.
• Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
• Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.

Requirements

• B.Sc / BA in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, Engineering or any other related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in position within oil and gas industry
• Must have held a similiar role for atleast 4 years
