Job Position: Software Engineer

Job Location: Yola, Adamawa

Job Description


  • The Software Engineer reports to the Manager Information Systems and is charged with the responsibility of managing software in accordance with the policies and usages of the American University of Nigeria.
  • The incumbent shall provide support for users regarding software issues and also troubleshoots existing software; evaluate and identify new technologies and software relevant to educational purposes for implementation in AUN;
  • Determine system performance standards. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
  • The incumbent will also be responsible for the Implementation of internal web-space; design and deployment of web-sites for various departments in AUN; Management of data storages on AUN network and of e-books repositories and other learning resources for use within AUN
  • Implementation of e-learning technology in AUN; and Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering. A Master’s Degree will serve as an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Programming Languages and Certifications which include but are not limited to Java, .NET, HTML, JSP, JavaScript, XML, ASP, PHP, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle. Advanced knowledge of AUN supported applications.
  • Ability to learn and support new applications. Possess high level interpersonal communication skills. And adequate knowledge of AUN Policies and Procedures and the University IT Policy..
