Job Summary


  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sponsorship and Business Development Manager to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong network of potential sponsors, such as banks, drinks companies, FinTech, and others.
  • This role requires someone who can effectively package our events into sponsorable properties, maintain relationships, and secure funding for the company’s range of events.

Responsibilities

  • Sponsorship Acquisition
    • Package events into attractive sponsorship opportunities.
    • Create compelling sponsorship proposals and presentations.
    • Identify and target potential sponsors from relevant industries.
  • Outreach and Networking
    • Conduct regular outreach to potential sponsors and follow up on leads.
    • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential sponsors.
    • Attend industry events and network to build new relationships.
    • Regularly update and manage the CRM system to track sponsorship leads, relationships, and event funding status.
  • Event Coordination
    • Collaborate with the events team to ensure sponsor requirements are met.
    • Coordinate with sponsors to ensure successful event execution as needed.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Provide updates to sponsors on event progress and outcomes.
    • Track and report on sponsorship acquisition and retention metrics.
    • Provide feedback and insights on sponsorship strategies and performance.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in sponsorship sales, business development, or a related role.
  • Proven track record of securing sponsorships in the creative, culture, or events space.
  • Strong network of potential sponsors, particularly in banks, drinks companies, and fintech startups.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage CRM and build new relationships.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills.
  • Passion for African culture, fashion, art, and design is a plus.
