About the Role

• We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to oversee the financial operations of a dynamic and growing art gallery.
• This role is ideal for someone who combines technical accounting expertise with strong business acumen and the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.
• You will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and providing key insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Prior experience in a high-value, client-facing, or creative business environment is an advantage.

Key Responsibilties

• Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, invoicing, and reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Track and report gallery sales, expenses, and cash flow with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, and ensure prompt vendor and artist payments.
• Coordinate payroll and statutory compliance (PAYE, VAT, pension, etc.).
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in alignment with gallery objectives.
• Maintain accurate records for inventory, including artworks and gallery assets.
• Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and external consultants as required.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of proven accounting experience.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Zoho Books) and Microsoft Excel.
• High integrity, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage sensitive financial data.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-finance teams.
• Self-driven with the ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment (must be able to work from Island office when needed).

Salary
N250,000 monthly.
