Analytical Chemist Job at The Candel FZE

The Candel FZE is a manufacturing company engaged in the development, production, marketing and distribution of agrochemicals, specialised fertilisers, seeds and allied products in Nigeria. It is located in the Lekki Free Zone, Ibeju- Lekki; near Dangote Refinery.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Analytical Chemist

Job Location: Lagos

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
These include, but are not limited to:

• Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and standards in the laboratory
• Sample incoming raw materials and perform laboratory tests on the materials to ensure it meets specification before receipt into the warehouse
• Prepare reagents in line with the SOP and ensure the reagents are well labeled
• Carry out physicochemical analysis on in-process and finish products in line with defined standard operating procedures and ensure results are well documented in the QA records
• Ensure Laboratory equipment, glass wares and workbench are well maintained
• Verify/calibrate/document laboratory equipment and ensure optimal performance
• Ensure routine auditing of laboratory stock chemicals and glass ware and submit report to QA Manager
• Ensure the laboratory meets good laboratory practice(GLP) standards
• Track and Monitor performance levels in all operations on Quality, Process and Equipment through collation, analysis and storage of relevant data and dissemination to the QA manager
• Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports and submit to the QA manager
• Comply and enforce PPE usage, issuance and replacement

Requirements

• A minimum of B.Sc. 2nd Class Upper in Analytical Chemistry
• Must have analytical skills and mindset
• Must be familiar with and able to handle basic laboratory equipment/apparatus
• Must have a good knowledge of Quality Assurance (ISO) and familiar with regulatory policies, standards/ specifications (NAFDAC, SON)
• Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision and under pressure in order to release results on time
  Good PC skills and Knowledge of Microsoft packages are essential for effective report writing.
• Must be flexible in approach to work and shift patterns.
