Job Position: Assistant Finance Manager

Position Summary


  • We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager to support our finance department.
  • This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, streamlining accounting processes, and supporting strategic financial planning.
  • The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a desire to grow into a leadership position.
  • You will play a key role in month-end close, financial analysis, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    • Perform variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) and provide insightful commentary to management.
    • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Accounting Operations:
    • Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are reconciled accurately and timely.
    • Supervise the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
    • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls:
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and relevant accounting standards.
    • Assist with internal and external audit preparations.
    • Help maintain and strengthen internal control procedures.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Supervise, mentor, and train junior accounting staff.
    • Delegate tasks and review the work of the accounting team for accuracy.
  • Strategic Support:
    • Provide financial data and analysis to support business decisions and special projects.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior role.
  • CPA or CMA certification highly preferred.
  • Strong experience with month-end close procedures and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced skills in
  • Microsoft Excel.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Integrity: High level of ethics and integrity when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Proactive & Organised: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
