Our presence can be felt in three malls across Lagos; Rango Restaurant, Ikeja City Mall, Rango Rooftop Lounge, Josego Mall, Lekki and Rango restaurants, Novare Mall Sangotedo. Our restaurants and lounge are a haven for food enthusiasts seeking a blend of modern ambiance and delectable cuisines.

Job Position: Assistant Restaurant Manager

Job Summary


  • The Assistant Managerplays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
  • This position involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high food quality standards, and assisting in the overall management of the restaurant.
  • The Assistant Manager acts as the second-in-command and helps to drive the restaurant's profitability and success by fostering a positive work environment and ensuring efficient operations.

Responsibilities
Operational Management:

  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management.
  • Ensure that all food safety and sanitation guidelines are strictly followed.
  • Monitor restaurant cleanliness and maintenance, ensuring that the facility meets or exceeds health and safety standards.

Staff Supervision:

  • Supervise, train, and motivate restaurant staff to provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist in scheduling staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and assist in staff development.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and professional manner.

Customer Service:

  • Ensure that all customers receive prompt and courteous service.
  • Handle customer complaints and concerns, resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Promote a positive dining experience by maintaining a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Financial Management:

  • Assist in managing the restaurant's budget, including controlling labor costs, food costs, and other expenses.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, including daily cash reconciliation and deposit preparation.
  • Monitor sales performance and work with the Restaurant Manager to implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability.

Inventory and Supply Chain Management:

  • Assist in ordering and receiving food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to prevent waste and theft.
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety, labor laws, and food safety standards.
  • Prepare and submit reports on sales, labor, and inventory to the Restaurant Manager.
  • Assist in conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Marketing and Promotions:

  • Assist in executing marketing and promotional activities to increase brand awareness and drive sales.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of promotions and suggest improvements based on customer feedback and sales data.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback and insights to improve service offerings.

Leadership:

  • Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to the restaurant’s success.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork among staff.
  • Step in to fulfill the duties of the Restaurant Manager in their absence.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4years of experience in the food service industry, with at least 1-2years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage staff, handle customer complaints, and resolve conflicts.
  • Proficient in basic financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and cash handling.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress effectively.
