We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Backend Engineer
Job Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 2 months

Who We're Looking For

• We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team for a duration of 2-months.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing scalable backend systems, experience in fintech or banking, and a passion for building solutions that drive financial inclusion in Africa.

What You'll Do

• Architect, design, and implement software applications for our digital payment platform.
• Develop new features from inception to deployment, ensuring they meet business requirements and are scalable.
• Write robust documentation to support new and existing functionalities.
• Build and maintain integrations with various vendors and financial institutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and compliance, to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Solve complex problems related to large-scale money movement and sensitive financial data.

What You’ll Need

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in backend development, preferably in a high-scale banking or fintech organization.
• Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as NodeJS, TypeScript, NestJS.
• Knowledge of frontend libraries and frameworks such as ReactJS, React Native, NextJS will be an added advantage.
• Solid knowledge of OOP, DBMS, and ORMs.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and microservices.
• Solid understanding of banking systems, financial transactions, and payment processing.
• Experience with version control tools such as git and github.
• Knowledge of banking protocols, APIs, and security standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
