Branch Manager Job at DavoDani Microfinance Bank

DavoDani Microfinance Bank Lagos is a product of the buy-over of a defunct unit MFB incorporated in 2008. In 2014, new owners led by Prince Austin Enajemo-Isire acquired the unit-licensed MFB and changed the name to DavoDani Microfinance Bank Limited Lagos and continued as a unit MFB. After a process of rebirth, turnaround, and recapitalization, the bank grew its depleted operating capital of N5.4m due to losses at the time of acquisition, to N100m in 2015.


DDMFB has since rebranded with a new corporate identity and boasts of seasoned and distinguished professionals from diverse backgrounds in the Executive Management team. The bank is driven by a board of directors comprising renowned and well-experienced professionals with different backgrounds, experiences, skills, and competencies both in the private and public sector; providing continuous robust oversight functions to management for the growth and development of the bank.

We are recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Position: Branch Manager

Job Location: Ojota, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure high-quality service by efficiently managing, developing, and using all available resources.
  • Proactively identify and assess the risks faced by the branch and reduce the overall exposure by maintaining an effective system of controls.
  • Ensure the effective rollout of management initiatives to the branch.
  • Ensure that an effective control structure is maintained, with control activities defined at every level and duties appropriately segregated, and recommend revision of internal controls where appropriate to address new or previously uncontrolled risks.

Qualifications

  • HND / B.Sc in Science, Social Science, or any other related course.
  • Evidence of completion of Microfinance Certification program.

Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Branch Manager in a bank.
  • Analytical and practical understanding of workflow, capacity planning/optimization, and process implementation.
  • Proven experience in marketing and negotiating techniques.

Skills:

  • Basic Financial Analysis - Ability to interpret income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and financial ratios.
  • Business acumen - the ability to spot opportunities and optimize revenue generation for the business
  • Thorough knowledge of standardized banking products.
  • A good working knowledge and understanding of behavioral credit scoring principles and practices, including an understanding of all SME products.
  • Extensive knowledge of banking regulations.
  • Understanding and application of Best Practices in all areas of Operations with the ability to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strategy planning and implementation.
  • Metrics-driven mindset.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Excellent computer skills; experience in financial software, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory provisions, policies, and best practices.
  • Leadership, team management, and mentoring.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office suite.
