Job Description
? Handling of official correspondence
? Prepare the appropriate legal documents and Represent the company in legal proceedings
? Evaluate new business partnerships with vendors and subcontractors.
? Design and oversee the company’s policy and position on legal matters.
? Protect the company against legal risks and violations.
? Examine the legal issues related to new products and services.
? Negotiate deals on behalf of the company.
? Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
? Ensure that appropriate approvals are in place before documents are executed.
? Explain the law and give legal advice.
? Offer legal representation at arbitration or mediation hearings.
? Monitor legal risk in real estate documentation and advise company accordingly
? Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for real estate transactions
? Draft and negotiate property/real estate transactions
? Ensure that appropriate approvals are in place before transactions are executed
? Represent the company in purchase and sale of properties.
? Compile, proofread and edit drafts of contracts, leases, licenses, policies and other legal documents.
? Providing expert advice on Joint Ventures and other partnership arrangements and be capable of drafting all relevant documentation.
? Reviewing, drafting, conducting and negotiating legally-binding agreements on behalf of the company which could involve everything from lease agreements to multi-million Naira acquisitions
? Conducting due diligence, negotiating, drafting, and generally overseeing "deals" that involve a corporation "merging" with another company or "acquiring" (purchasing) another company
? Develop company policy and position on legal issues
Job Requirements
? Must have 3-5 years work experience.
? Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law
? Experience in drafting, negotiating, reviewing and interpret legal documents.
? Must possess litigatory experience
? Experience in real estate law and industry knowledge that includes litigation, lease transactions, property management, perfection of property titles and purchase and sale transactions
? Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills
? Natural leader who displays sound judgment and attention to detail
? Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
? Capable networker with excellent interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills.
? Ability to work on multiple projects
