Autochek Africa is an Automotive Technology development company that builds solutions aimed at enabling and enhancing commerce within the automotive sector. We focus on solutions that improve access to Auto loans, quality maintenance / aftersales services, warranty solutions, and transactional marketplaces. We are operational in West and East Africa and we also have developed a partner-led retail footprint with over 500 service centers.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: DevOps Engineer

Job Locations: Port Harcourt - Rivers & Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

What You’ll Do

• We’re looking for folks with an interest in building products and tools, and comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces.
• You’ll be building customer-facing products that will drive direct business impact and shape our long-term technical vision with a high-quality bar.

Responsibilities

• Take a leadership role in developing infrastructure to improve the speed of our organization
• Follow best practices to ensure fast, secure, reliable and maintainable production environments
• Own the security of our various cloud systems & development environments
• Implement internal tooling for logging, alerting, monitoring, etc. that requires minimal maintenance to maximise developer velocity
• Own the uptime of our various products - with assistance from a top-rate engineering team
• Strive to minimize risk of issues or outages, but also rapidly respond with a cool, calm demeanour to production issues whether at 2pm or 2am
• Deeply learn our industries served & customer base to develop a comprehensive understanding of our business.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
• Minimum of 1 year of Go/Javascript experience
• Expert with SQL / Postgres
• Leadership in implementing DevOps, CI/CD, SRE
• Expert in Google Cloud Platform
• Expert with Kubernetes & Docker
• Experience implementing and maintaining compliance with various security standards (ISO 27000, SOC 2, etc.)
• Desire to understand the business context for the solutions you are building
• Hold yourself and others to a high standard when working with production systems.
